Ssewa Ssewa is a Ugandan multi-instrumentalist, composer, and innovator known for blending traditional Ugandan musical elements with modern genres such as folk, world, and jazz. He is the creator of the janzi, a 22-string double-necked instrument that combines diatonic and pentatonic tuning. Ssewa Ssewa performs with various traditional instruments, including the endongo, adungu, endigidi, akogo, amadinda, and engoma. His 2020 album "Nva K'la. Grooves From Kampala, Uganda" showcases his unique musical style, celebrating Uganda's rich cultural heritage while modernizing it for a global audience.
