The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Aaron Lewis, lead guitarist Mike Mushok, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny April, and drummer Jon Wysocki. The band has released eight studio albums, including "Break the Cycle" (2001), which achieved five times platinum certification in the United States and featured the hit single "It's Been Awhile". Their music is often classified as alternative metal, nu metal, and post-grunge. Throughout their career, Staind has collaborated with various artists and gained international recognition.
