Steeleye Span is a British folk rock band formed in 1969 in London. The group was part of the 1970s British folk revival and achieved commercial success with albums like "All Around My Hat" and singles "Gaudete" and "All Around My Hat". Their music is known for electrified arrangements of traditional British folk songs. Throughout their career, they underwent several personnel changes, with vocalist Maddy Prior remaining the only original member. The band collaborated with artists such as Jethro Tull and David Bowie. Their 1974 album "Now We Are Six" was produced by Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull and features the track "To Know Him Is To Love Him" with guest David Bowie on saxophone.
