Stephen Kovacevich is an American pianist and conductor renowned for his interpretations of works by Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart, and Schubert. Born in San Pedro, California, he launched his European career in 1961 with a debut at London's Wigmore Hall. Over a career spanning more than six decades, Kovacevich has collaborated with esteemed orchestras and conductors such as Georg Solti, Bernard Haitink, and Simon Rattle.
