Steve Hobbs is an American vibraphonist born in Raleigh in 1955. He began playing percussion at age 7 and later studied at Berklee College of Music and the University of Miami. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Tom Harrell, Art Van Damme, and Kenny Barron. His album "Spring Cycle" was nominated for Best Album of the Year by the Jazz Journalists Association in 2005. Hobbs is known for his contributions to jazz music, and his recordings have gained recognition in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia.
