String Trio of New York is an American jazz chamber ensemble founded in 1977 by bassist John Lindberg, violinist Billy Bang, and guitarist James Emery. Their debut album, "First String," was released in 1979 under the Italian label Black Saint. The group is known for its innovative approach to jazz music, blending composition with improvisation. Throughout their career, they have released several significant albums, including "Area Code 212" (1981) and "Common Goal" (1983).
