Sumac is an American-Canadian post-metal supergroup formed in 2014. The band consists of guitarist and vocalist Aaron Turner (ex-Isis), drummer Nick Yacyshyn (Baptists), and bassist Brian Cook (Russian Circles). Their debut album, "The Deal," was released in 2015, followed by "What One Becomes" (2016), "Love in Shadow" (2018), and "The Healer" (2024). Sumac is known for their experimental approach to metal, often collaborating with Japanese musician Keiji Haino. Their music combines elements of post-metal, sludge metal, and avant-garde metal.
