Suzzallo is a Seattle-based rock band led by Rocky Votolato. Following the tragic loss of his child in December 2021, Votolato formed Suzzallo as a means to process his grief. The band, named after the Suzzallo Library at the University of Washington, released their debut album, "The Quiet Year," on May 2, 2025. Produced by John Goodmanson, the album features collaborations with Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie. Musically, Suzzallo departs from Votolato's acoustic roots, offering an intense alternative rock sound with fuzzed-out guitars and emotive lyrics.
