The Takács Quartet is a renowned string quartet founded in 1975 at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. Originally composed of Gábor Takács-Nagy, Károly Schranz, Gábor Ormai, and András Fejér, the quartet gained international acclaim for their interpretations of works by composers such as Beethoven, Bartók, and Brahms. Their recordings have received numerous awards, including a Grammy for Best Chamber Music Performance. Currently based in the USA, they serve as the resident quartet at the University of Colorado Boulder.
