that dog. is an American alternative rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1991. The original lineup consisted of Anna Waronker (vocals, guitar), Rachel Haden (bass guitar, vocals), Petra Haden (violin, vocals), and Tony Maxwell (drums). The band released three studio albums: 'that dog.' (1994), 'Totally Crushed Out!' (1995), and 'Retreat from the Sun' (1997). After disbanding in 1997, they reunited in 2011 and released a fourth album, 'Old LP', in 2019. Their music blends elements of indie pop, alternative rock, and power pop, characterized by harmonious vocals and melodic arrangements.
