LP platne - The Afro-American Ensemble
The Afro-American Ensemble was a New York-based musical group known for their 1972 album "Free The Black Man's Chains." This album, considered the first black opera, features tracks like "Fair Skin Man" and "L-o-v-e Love." The recordings included musicians such as Mitchell Rowe, Bobby Eli, Len Pakula, Daryl Hall, Ron Baker, Norman Harris, and The Raelettes, with arrangements by Richie Rome. Despite its ambitious concept, the album did not achieve commercial success due to lack of promotion, and the GSF label soon ceased operations. The album was reissued in 2025 by Charly Records.
