The Desert Rose Band was an American country rock group formed in 1985 in Los Angeles by Chris Hillman, formerly of The Byrds and The Flying Burrito Brothers. The original lineup included Herb Pedersen, John Jorgenson, Bill Bryson, JayDee Maness, and Steve Duncan. The band released several albums, including "The Desert Rose Band" (1987), "Running" (1988), "Pages of Life" (1990), and "True Love" (1991). Their biggest hits include "He's Back and I'm Blue" and "Summer Wind". The band was a three-time winner of the Band of the Year/Touring Award presented by the Academy of Country Music Association in 1988, 1989, and 1990. The band disbanded in 1994.
