The Dixie Cups are an American pop girl group from the 1960s, known for hits like "Chapel of Love", "People Say", and "Iko Iko". Originally known as The Meltones, the group consisted of sisters Barbara Ann and Rosa Lee Hawkins and their cousin Joan Marie Johnson from New Orleans. In 1964, they released their debut single "Chapel of Love", which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold millions of copies. Their music blended pop and rhythm and blues, with songs often produced by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Throughout their career, they released several albums and remained a significant part of the 1960s American music scene.
