The Duals were an American surf rock duo from Los Angeles, active in 1961. Comprising Henry Bellinger (lead guitar) and Johnny Lageman (rhythm guitar), they are best known for their instrumental hit "Stick Shift," which reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold approximately 500,000 copies. Following the release of their sole album, "Stick Shift," and a few unsuccessful singles, the duo disbanded shortly thereafter. Their music is considered influential in the surf rock and hot rod music genres.
