The Gentle Storm is a Dutch musical project formed in 2014 by singer and lyricist Anneke van Giersbergen and composer and musician Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Their debut album, "The Diary," was released on March 23, 2015, featuring two versions of the same songs: the "Gentle" version with acoustic and folk arrangements, and the "Storm" version with metal and symphonic elements. The album is a concept piece narrating a 17th-century love story. Following the album's release, the band toured before the members focused on other projects. Lucassen is known for his work with Ayreon, and van Giersbergen continued with the band VUUR. The products available from the artist The Gentle Storm include CDs, vinyls.
