The Gladiators are a Jamaican roots reggae band formed in 1968 in Kingston. The original lineup consisted of Albert Griffiths (vocals and guitar), Clinton Fearon (bass guitar and vocals), and Gallimore Sutherland (rhythm guitar and vocals). Their most notable albums include "Trenchtown Mix Up" (1976) and "Proverbial Reggae" (1978), featuring tracks like "Hearsay," "Jah Works," and "Dreadlocks the Time is Now." The band collaborated with producers such as Coxsone Dodd and Lee Perry, and were known for their socially conscious lyrics and authentic reggae sound.
