cd - The Make-Up

The Make-Up is an American post-punk band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1995. The group consisted of Ian Svenonius (vocals), James Canty (guitar, organ), Steve Gamboa (drums), and Michelle Mae (bass guitar). Their music blended elements of garage rock, soul, and a self-styled genre called "Gospel Yeh-Yeh." During their active years, they released four studio albums, including "Destination: Love - Live! at Cold Rice" (1996) and "Sound Verite" (1997). The band was renowned for their energetic live performances and audience interaction. After disbanding in 2000, members pursued various musical projects.
