The Shirelles were an American girl group formed in 1957 in Passaic, New Jersey. The group consisted of Shirley Owens, Doris Coley, Addie "Micki" Harris, and Beverly Lee. They achieved success in 1960 with "Tonight's the Night" and became the first African-American girl group to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961 with "Will You Love Me Tomorrow". Other notable songs include "Mama Said", "Baby It's You", and "Soldier Boy". In 1996, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
