The Supremes were an American girl group formed in Detroit in 1959 as The Primettes. The original members were Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, Diana Ross, and Betty McGlown. After signing with Motown Records in 1961, they changed their name to The Supremes. The group achieved 12 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Where Did Our Love Go" and "Baby Love". Their music encompassed genres such as R&B, soul, and pop.
