The Wild Swans are a post-punk band from Liverpool, England, formed in 1980 by Paul Simpson after leaving The Teardrop Explodes. Their debut single, "Revolutionary Spirit" (1982), achieved cult status. After disbanding in 1982, they reunited in 1988, releasing albums "Bringing Home the Ashes" and "Space Flower". Following another split in 1990, they reformed in 2009 and released "The Coldest Winter for a Hundred Years" in 2011. Their music is characterized by post-punk and new wave sounds. Members have also been part of bands like Echo & the Bunnymen and The Icicle Works.
