Theo Plath is a German bassoonist who secured third place at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich in 2019. He has served as principal bassoonist with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and the WDR Symphony Orchestra in Cologne. In 2019, he became the principal bassoonist of the hr-Sinfonieorchester in Frankfurt. His 2021 album "Lost Times" features works by composers such as Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Boulanger, and Franck, with some pieces being his own arrangements for bassoon and piano. Plath is recognized for his technical proficiency and ability to interpret Impressionist and late Romantic music on the bassoon.
