Thierry Mechler is a French organist and educator born in 1962 in Mulhouse. He studied organ under Daniel Roth and piano under Hélène Boschi at the Strasbourg Conservatory. Since 1998, he has been teaching organ and improvisation at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne. Notable recordings include "Toccaten & Improvisationen" and "Le Saint-Sacrement (Orgue et chant grégorien)". Mechler is renowned for his interpretations of works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Domenico Scarlatti. In 2002, he founded his own label, Tonalis Records, and in 2007, the Ensemble Tonalis.
