Thompson Twins were a British pop band formed in 1977 in Sheffield. Initially a new wave group, they transitioned to a mainstream pop sound. Their most renowned lineup consisted of Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie, and Joe Leeway. In the 1980s, they achieved international success with hits like "Hold Me Now," "Doctor! Doctor!," and "You Take Me Up." Their 1984 album "Into the Gap" became their most successful, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart and selling millions of copies worldwide.
