Troy Andrews, known as Trombone Shorty, is an American musician from New Orleans who plays trombone, trumpet, and sings. Born on January 2, 1986, he began performing at jazz festivals at the age of four. In 2005, he joined Lenny Kravitz on his world tour. His music blends jazz, funk, R&B, and rock. Notable albums include "Backatown" (2010), "For True" (2011), and "Lifted" (2022). He has collaborated with artists such as Jeff Beck, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Mark Ronson. In 2022, he won a Grammy Award for his work on Jon Batiste's "We Are" album. He founded the Trombone Shorty Foundation to support youth music education.
