Twisted Sister was an American heavy metal band formed in 1972 in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, later based on Long Island, New York. The classic lineup consisted of Jay Jay French (guitar), Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (guitar), Dee Snider (vocals), Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass), and A. J. Pero (drums). Their best-known songs include "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock" from the album "Stay Hungry" (1984). The band was active during 1972–1988, 1998, 2001, 2003–2016, and 2023. In 2006, they were inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. Their music is often classified as heavy metal, glam metal, and hard rock.
