Vernon Reid is an American guitarist and composer, best known as the founder and lead guitarist of the rock band Living Colour. Formed in 1984, the band is known for hits like "Cult of Personality" and "Glamour Boys". Reid is recognized for his eclectic style, incorporating elements of rock, jazz, and funk. In addition to his work with Living Colour, he has released solo albums such as "Mistaken Identity" (1996) and "Other True Self" (2006). He has collaborated with artists like Ronald Shannon Jackson and Bill Frisell. Reid is also the founder of the Black Rock Coalition, an organization supporting black rock musicians.
