Viola Wilmsen is a German oboist who studied in Lübeck, Paris, and at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. In 2010, she became the solo oboist of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and since 2012, she has served as the principal oboist of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. In 2014, she released her debut CD with the sextet Berlin Counterpoint, and in 2017, a recording of works for oboe and piano by 20th-century Czech composers. Since the summer semester of 2022, she has been a professor of oboe at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin.
