Voivod is a Canadian metal band formed in 1982 in Jonquière, Québec. The original lineup consisted of Denis "Snake" Bélanger (vocals), Denis "Piggy" D'Amour (guitar), Michel "Away" Langevin (drums), and Jean-Yves "Blacky" Thériault (bass). The band is known for its unique style, blending thrash metal with progressive and avant-garde elements. Notable albums include "Nothingface" (1989), which reached number 114 on the Billboard 200 chart, and "The Wake" (2018), which won the Juno Award for Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year.
