Warren Storm was an American drummer and vocalist, recognized as a pioneer of the swamp pop genre, which blends rhythm and blues, country, Cajun, and black Creole music. Born on February 18, 1937, in Abbeville, Louisiana, he began his career in the 1950s and achieved success in 1958 with "The Prisoner's Song." Throughout his career, he collaborated with artists like Rod Bernard and Skip Stewart in The Shondells. In the 1980s, he formed the band Cypress with Willie Tee Trahan.
