Wayne Escoffery is an American jazz tenor saxophonist born in London who moved to New Haven, Connecticut, in 1986. He studied under Jackie McLean at the Hartt School and earned a master's degree from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance. Escoffery is known for his collaborations with artists such as Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Tom Harrell. He is a longtime member of the Mingus Big Band and won a Grammy Award in 2010.
