Wednesday is an American alternative rock band from Asheville, North Carolina, led by vocalist and guitarist Karly Hartzman. The band formed in 2017 as Hartzman's solo project and later expanded to include members MJ Lenderman (guitar), Xandy Chelmis (lap steel guitar), Alan Miller (drums), and Ethan Baechtold (bass guitar). Their music blends elements of country rock and shoegaze, with lyrics often exploring life in the American South. Notable albums include "I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone" (2020), "Twin Plagues" (2021), and "Rat Saw God" (2023). The band plans to release their sixth album, "Bleeds," on September 19, 2025.
