Gábor Winand was a Hungarian jazz vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who began his musical career as a clarinetist before focusing on singing. He studied at the jazz department of the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest. Winand collaborated with notable musicians such as Gyula Babos, Gábor Gadó, and László Dés. He was a member of the Elemér Balázs Group and led his own Winand Quartet. His album "Corners of My Mind" received the "Choc de l'année" award from the French magazine Jazzman in 2002.
