Benjamin Herman is a Dutch saxophonist who began playing the saxophone at the age of twelve. He is the founder of the successful groups New Cool Collective and New Cool Collective Big Band. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Candy Dulfer, Michiel Borstlap, Saskia Laroo, Fra Fra Big Band, Rein de Graaf, Jesse van Ruller, Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Idris Muhammad, Larry Goldings, Misha Mengelberg, and The Metropole Orchestra. His album "Plays Jaki Byard" was released in 2002 and includes tracks like "Tribute to Jimmy Slide" and "Aluminum Baby".
