Fire Engines were a Scottish post-punk band from Edinburgh, active between 1979 and 1981. Their debut album, "Lubricate Your Living Room," was released in January 1981 under the Pop Aural label. The band was known for their experimental approach to music and their influence on later alternative rock bands. In 2024, they released the compilation "Chrome Dawns," which includes their complete recorded output, including two 1981 John Peel Sessions. This compilation was remastered from producer Bob Last's original tapes and features a 32-page booklet with notes by Neil Cooper and an interview with all four original members. The products available from the artist Fire Engines include CDs.
