Gene Argel is an American jazz pianist born in Tacoma, Washington. In his twenties, he left the Pacific Northwest to perform in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and eventually settled on the island of Maui, Hawaii, in 1982. Throughout his career, he collaborated with various musicians, including guitarist Shiro Mori and trumpeter Jay Thomas. In 2015, at the age of 76, he released his debut album "Luminescent" under the Origin Records label. The album features tracks such as "Annette," "People," and "Haida Welcome Song." Argel is recognized for his contributions to the jazz scenes in Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest.
