Johann Sebastiani was a German Baroque composer born in Weimar in 1622. In 1661, he became the cantor at Königsberg Cathedral, and from 1663 to 1679, he served as the court Kapellmeister. His most renowned work is the "St. Matthew Passion" from 1672, considered the first oratorio Passion to incorporate chorales. Sebastiani passed away in Königsberg in 1683.
