Rebecca Martin is an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter known for her unique blend of folk, pop, and jazz. Born in Rumford, Maine, she began her music career in the 1990s as a member of the duo Once Blue with guitarist Jesse Harris. After the group's dissolution, she released her debut solo album, "Thoroughfare," in 1998. Subsequent albums include "Middlehope" (2001), "People Behave Like Ballads" (2004), and "The Growing Season" (2008). Her music is characterized by delicate melodies and introspective lyrics, often collaborating with her husband, renowned bassist Larry Grenadier. Martin is also known for her collaborations with jazz musicians such as Paul Motian and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
