Sakina Abdou is a French saxophonist known for her work in jazz and free improvisation. In November 2024, she released the album "Hammer, Roll and Leaf" in collaboration with percussionist Toma Gouband and pianist Marta Warelis. The album was recorded during a multi-day improvised session at her home and features a 60-minute musical journey that is intimate and acoustic. Abdou previously collaborated with Gouband in the gamelan ensemble Nist-Nah and with Warelis in the Amsterdam improvisational collective Doek. Their joint work transcends genre boundaries and explores new musical territories.
