sir Was is the stage name of Swedish multi-instrumentalist and producer Joel Wästberg. Hailing from Frillesås, Sweden, he studied saxophone and improvisation at Skurups folkhögskola and the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg. Before embarking on his solo career, he collaborated with José González and the band Junip. His music blends elements of jazz, hip-hop, and classical music. Notable albums include "Digging A Tunnel" (2017), "Holding On To A Dream" (2019), "Let The Morning Come" (2021), and "We Can Go Anywhere From Here" (2023).
