Something for Kate is an Australian alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Melbourne. The original lineup consisted of Paul Dempsey (vocals, guitar), Clint Hyndman (drums), and Julian Carroll (bass guitar). In 1998, Stephanie Ashworth replaced Carroll. The band has released seven studio albums, with "Echolalia" (2001) and "The Official Fiction" (2003) achieving platinum status. Their fifth album, "Desert Lights" (2006), debuted at number one on the ARIA chart. In 2020, they released "The Modern Medieval". Their music is known for introspective lyrics and melodic arrangements.
