Souad Massi is an Algerian singer, songwriter, and guitarist known for her unique blend of folk, rock, and world music. She began her career in the 1990s with the rock band Atakor before relocating to France, where she released her debut album "Raoui" in 2001. Notable albums include "Deb" (2003), "Ô Houria" (2010), and "Sequana" (2022). Massi sings in Arabic, French, and Kabyle, with her music often reflecting her Algerian roots and Western influences. She has collaborated with artists such as Piers Faccini and Naïssam Jalal. In 2011, she received the Grand Prix des musiques du monde from SACEM.
