The Boomtown Rats are an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 1975. The original lineup included Bob Geldof (vocals), Garry Roberts (lead guitar), Johnnie Fingers (keyboards), Pete Briquette (bass guitar), Gerry Cott (rhythm guitar), and Simon Crowe (drums). They are best known for their hits "Rat Trap" and "I Don't Like Mondays," both of which reached number one on the UK charts. The band disbanded in 1986 but reunited in 2013.
