Yuri Honing's Peace Orchestra is a musical project led by Dutch saxophonist Yuri Honing, conceived in response to the turbulent times following the global pandemic. With a new all-star lineup, the ensemble blends jazz from the 1960s and 70s with modern electronics, creating a hopeful and inspiring soundscape. Drawing inspiration from works like Pharoah Sanders' "The Creator Has a Master Plan" and the music of Charles Lloyd and Sun Ra, the Peace Orchestra reinterprets freer forms of jazz, offering a fresh perspective on the genre. Their debut album, "Yuri Honing's Peace Orchestra," was released in 2023 under the Challenge Records label.
