Zeena Parkins is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist known for her pioneering work with the harp. She employs extended playing techniques, object preparations, and electronic processing to redefine the instrument's capabilities. Parkins has designed a series of unique electric harps and collaborated with artists such as Björk, Yoko Ono, and John Zorn. Her discography includes albums like "Something Out There" (1987), "Nightmare Alley" (1993), and "No Way Back" (1998). In 2019, she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for music composition.
