Zuzana Růžičková was a Czech harpsichordist renowned for her interpretations of Baroque music, particularly the works of Johann Sebastian Bach. She was the first harpsichordist to record Bach's complete keyboard works in the 1960s and 1970s for Erato Records. Over her 50-year career, she recorded more than 100 albums and taught prominent musicians such as Christopher Hogwood and Mahan Esfahani. Born in Plzeň, she survived Nazi concentration camps, including Terezín and Auschwitz. After the war, she continued her musical education and became a professor at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. She passed away in 2017 in Prague.
