220 Volt is a Swedish heavy metal band formed in 1979 by guitarists Thomas Drevin and Mats Karlsson in Östersund. Their debut album, "220 Volt," was released in 1983 and sold approximately 10,000 copies in Sweden alone. This was followed by "Powergames" (1984), "Mind Over Muscle" (1985), and "Eye to Eye" (1988). The band gained popularity not only in Sweden but also in Japan, Germany, and the United States. In 1984 and 1986, they performed as the opening act for Nazareth and AC/DC.
