Absentee was an English alternative rock band from London, active between 2003 and 2008. The band consisted of Dan Michaelson (vocals/guitar), Melinda Bronstein (vocals, keyboards, melodica, glockenspiel), Babak Ganjei (guitar/lap steel), Laurie Earle (bass guitar), and Jon Chandler (drums, later replaced by Che Albrighton). They released three albums: "Hawaiian Disco" (2004), "Schmotime" (2006), and "Victory Shorts" (2008). Their music was characterized as alternative rock with elements of indie rock.
