Absynthe Minded is a Belgian rock band led by vocalist and guitarist Bert Ostyn. Initially starting as a solo project in 1999, they later expanded into a quintet. Their music blends elements of 1930s jazz, funky soul, Balkan rhythms, and Merseyside pop. They released their debut album, "Acquired Taste," in 2004, followed by "New Day" (2005), "There Is Nothing" (2007), and "Absynthe Minded" (2009). In 2010, they won four awards at the Flemish Music Industry Awards, including "Hit of the Year" for the song "Envoi." In 2020, they released the album "Riddle of the Sphinx."
