Acheron is an American death/black metal band founded in 1988 by Vincent Crowley after his departure from Nocturnus. Their 1991 debut album, "Rites of the Black Mass," was recorded at Morrisound Studios with Scott Burns and is considered a milestone in the genre. The band is known for its unique style and sound, with notable albums including "Lex Talionis" (1994), "Those Who Have Risen" (1998), and "Rebirth: Metamorphosing Into Godhood" (2003).
