AFI is an American rock band formed in 1991 in California. Their sixth studio album, "Sing the Sorrow," released in 2003, reached number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and achieved platinum certification from the RIAA. The album features singles "Girl's Not Grey," "The Leaving Song Pt. II," and "Silver and Cold," which charted on the Alternative Songs and Rock Songs charts. Musically, the album incorporates elements of post-hardcore, punk rock, and emo. The album was produced by Jerry Finn and Butch Vig.
